VBS, Day Camp, and Service Week 2020

Vacation Bible School 2-GO, June 15 – 18, (3 years old – Kindergarten)

ZOOM time: 11am – 12pm.

Day Camp 2-GO (with Sugar Creek Staff) June 15 – 18. (1st – 5th graders)

ZOOM time: 9 – 10 am.

VBS 2-GO: I will create boxes of all the supplies needed for the crafts for the week. (Maybe some surprise items as well!) I will plan a time to connect by ZOOM – to read our story, work on the craft together, listen to a song, etc.

DAY CAMP 2-GO: – Sugar Creek will provide links for online, so our youth can sing songs, hear a skit/story, all with safe distancing. I will also put boxes together for those crafts as well.

No summer registration fee is needed, although donations are accepted.

Mission Trip to Leech Lake Reservation, MN – July 19 – 24. Our trip has been canceled for this summer. Looking forward to another opportunity in a future summer.

Explorer Day -July 7, 9 AM – 3 PM (Entering 1st – 5th grade) Unfortunately, this event is cancelled for 2020.

Confirmation Camp – Cancelled this summer.

Mini Mission/Service Week August 11- 13, 2020 (6th – 12th Grade) 9 am – 4 pm.

Camp Grace

We have over 50 extra voices singing God’s praise, learning about bible stories, sharing Grace, forging new friends, creating amazing tributes and having fun.

Mission Week

Mission Impossible is off to an amazing start! The youth have been to Second Harvest Food Bank to package and label pizzas and sausage for distribution; helped people “shop” at The River Food Pantry; cleaned the Mount Horeb Museum; scanned photos, transcribed historical documents, and entered data from post cards for the Mount Horeb Historical Society; tied fleece blankets for the Ronald McDonald House and disinfected toys there; pulled weeds behind church; tie dyed cross t-shirts; and several other activities that are bringing smiles to many while fulfilling their baptismal promises! Amazing times. Amazing kids!

A little bit of work & a whole lot of grace

Summer is just around the corner and we’re busy making plans for the youth!
Please look through the details and try to get your child’s registration forms in by June 7th for MS and HS youth and by June 14th for 3yo through Kindergarten youth.

ADULTS are an important part of our summer programming. We wouldn’t be able to offer these exciting opportunities without the many adults who volunteer their time! You don’t have to be a parent to be an adult volunteer. We welcome adults of all ages to accompany the youth on these journeys. VBS for 3 year olds – kindergartners “Camp Grace” will be at ELC Sunday, June 28th through Thursday, July 2nd, 2015. Information and registration forms can be found at church or are printable here: VBS and Day Camp Info and Registration Forms

Mission Week for 6th – 12th graders will be held Monday, June 22nd through Thursday, June 25th, 2015. A trip to Six Flags/Great America will be offered on Friday, June 26th for all MS and HS youth. It’s a great way to celebrate with some fun in the sun after serving others all week. Lutherans Against Bullying

Just a reminder that Lutherans Against Bullying (LAB) will be hosting a workshop at Barneveld Lutheran Church this Saturday, April 25th, from 9am until 2pm. There will be a track of breakouts targeted for youth 11+ and a track of breakouts targeted for adults. The cost is $10 and includes lunch. The day will end with worship at 1:30pm.
