Mission Possible

July 4, 2014 by ELC Webmaster

mission impossibleWe’re getting ready for a week of service; Mission Possible 2014 will involve almost 40 middle school and high school youth in a week full of doing God’s work!  Youth will focus on how we can help others have their basic needs met:  food; water; comfort & care; a safe environment; and community of support.

We still need a few things to make it the best that it can be:
A driver on Monday and a driver on Friday from noon until around 4ish.  If you’re willing and available, let Jen know how many youth you can take and which day you’re available!

An adult who would like to hang out with the 8th and 9th graders during the week from noonish until 5pm.  We’d like to have a “go-to-guy” for the youth and if you can drive them around, that’s a bonus.  We’d really like to have one person who could at least be with them on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.  Again, let Jen know if you’re up for the task.  There’s no prep work involved, just a willingness to build relationships with the youth!

Snacks for each afternoon for around 40 youth.  They’d need to be at ELC by 3:30 each day.  If you’re willing to purchase or supply snacks for one (or more) of the days, let Jen know!

Prayers are always welcome!  Go ahead and say a prayer of thanks for the adults who are helping make this happen; for the youth to see how possible it is to make a difference by doing God’s work; and for the people who’s lives will be touched throughout the week of service.

Jen can be reached at church, through extension 2, or you can email her Jen.Kooistra@ELCMtHoreb.org
