The voice said to him again, a second time, “What God has made clean, you must not call profane.” (Acts 10:15)

The fledgling church of Christ is finding its feet, to be as diverse and inclusive as Jesus himself. But humans sometimes need more time to catch up with God’s radical vision.

• What is considered taboo in your community? What has become mainstream that you wish was still taboo? Why?
• How can you honor God in a new way this week? What can you do or refrain from doing to respect God?

PRAY:  God, you have sanctified all things by your grace, and nothing is unclean to you. Open our minds to your vision of inclusion that we might mirror your mercy in the world, for the sake of our loving savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

BLESS:  May God guide you in your discernment. Amen.

 “After these things Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias; and he showed himself in this way” — John 21:1

• What helps you remember that weeping is short lived and joy always returns? (Psalm 30:5)
• Rev 5:13 describes every creature in heaven and on earth worshiping God. How does this speak to you?
• Imagine being at the fish breakfast with Jesus. What would you see, hear, smell, touch and feel? (John 21:9-14)

PRAY:  O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

 BLESS:  May you see the risen Christ at work in you today. Amen.

Even though some still had doubts, Jesus sent the disciples to share the good
news, and they did. They went with the promise that Jesus would be with them always. We still share that same promise and that same mission.

• How can you work to welcome them into God’s kingdom?
• If God changed your name as a sign that you have been set apart to serve God, what name would you want God to choose? Why?
• For the littles: What is the longest trip you’ve ever taken? What did you do there? Jesus invites us to share our stories with people all over the world.

PRAY:  O Lord, at times we still question your presence, even when you’re right in front of us. Fill us with faith in your promises, simply because you are trustworthy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
